Future Gen Solutions is proud to share that our Director and Senior Financial Adviser, Tom Wilkinson, was named a Finalist for Adviser of the Year — Estate Planning at the 2026 Australian Wealth Management Awards, held on 13 August at the Shangri-La in Sydney.
The Australian Wealth Management Awards recognise the businesses and professionals shaping the direction of Australia’s wealth management sector. The room brings together emerging advisory practices, established firms and specialists from across the industry, and the categories are judged on demonstrated expertise and client outcomes rather than scale alone. To have Tom shortlisted individually against that field is a significant recognition — both of him personally and of the standard of advice he has provided.
Why estate planning
Estate planning is one of the least glamorous parts of what we do, and one of the most consequential. It rarely produces an immediate result. It asks families to sit with difficult questions about capacity, control, blended families, business succession and what happens when someone is no longer there to explain their intentions. Done properly, it is the work that determines whether decades of careful accumulation actually reaches the next generation intact — and whether the people left behind are looking after each other rather than untangling a mess.
This underlying conviction is why Tom and Future Gen have invested so heavily in this area of advice over the recent ten years, and why it now sits at the centre of the work we do with client families. It is also the reason for our name- Future Gen Solutions, involving the growth, protection and eventual transfer of accumulated wealth to the next generation. This goes to the very core of our offering.
